Profiles

A profile is a set of related tests that are ordered together. Instead of asking for each test separately, your doctor can request one profile that gives a fuller picture of one organ or body system.

About profiles

A profile is a set of related tests that are ordered together. Instead of asking for each test separately, your doctor can request one profile that gives a fuller picture of one organ or body system. A profile groups related tests that are done together on one sample, for example tests that check the liver, kidneys, lipids or thyroid.

Common types of profile

Laboratories commonly offer profiles such as a lipid profile (cholesterol and related fats), liver function tests, kidney function tests and a thyroid profile. The tests included in each profile can differ, so ask us for the exact list before your visit.

Why profiles are useful

Related values make more sense when they are seen together. A profile also usually means one sample and one visit, which saves time.

Before your visit

Some profiles, such as the lipid profile, may need fasting. Tell us which profile you need, or send your doctor's slip on WhatsApp, and we will explain the preparation.

Your report

All the results of a profile are shared in one report. Ask for the expected time when the sample is taken. Printed and WhatsApp reports are available.

Please note: this page explains the service in general terms. It is not medical advice. Ask your doctor which tests you need, and contact Aarogya Seva Lab to confirm that a specific test is available.
